We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the AI infrastructure that powers Livo’s intelligent workspace. You’ll work across embeddings, vector search, agent workflows, model orchestration, and high-performance backend systems that must stay fast, reliable, and invisible to the user. This role is for someone who enjoys designing long-term foundations, solving hard scaling problems, and turning complex AI systems into smooth, seamless product experiences.
What you'll do
Design and build backend services that power AI-assisted workflows across notes, tasks, and meetings
Implement vector search, retrieval pipelines, embeddings, and semantic processing systems
Develop infrastructure for agentic behavior, async workloads, and orchestration of multiple AI models
Work closely with product and design to ensure AI features feel native, fast, and predictable
Optimize model performance, latency, caching, batching, and throughput
Build internal tools and abstractions that make AI development faster and safer
Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and capable of scaling as Lume grows
What We’re Looking For
Deep understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and service design
5–8+ years of backend engineering experience with strong fundamentals
Experience working with AI infra: embeddings, vector search, retrieval pipelines, or LLM orchestration
Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, Go, Python, or similar backend stacks
Strong focus on performance, reliability, and architectural clarity
Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across product, design, and AI teams
Desire to build systems that feel simple on the outside, regardless of complexity inside
