At Livo, we’re building a calmer, more intelligent way to work. Today’s teams struggle with constant context-switching and scattered tools that drain focus. Livo brings notes, tasks, docs, and meetings into a single, AI-powered workspace that feels effortless — helping people think clearly and work with intention.

Since launching in 2024, Livo has grown quickly among startups and product teams who want a workspace that’s fast, minimal, and thoughtfully designed. We’re a small, remote-first team distributed across multiple time zones, united by our love for great software and our belief that tools should reduce noise, not add to it.

We’re looking for an API Engineer to design and maintain the foundational APIs that power Livo’s intelligent workspace. You’ll build fast, predictable, and well-structured interfaces that connect internal systems, AI workflows, and external integrations. This role is ideal for someone who thinks deeply about API design, enjoys creating clean abstractions, and values clarity and reliability in every layer of the stack.

What you'll do

  • Create clear, consistent schemas and abstractions that simplify integration for internal and external teams

  • Design and build high-quality APIs for core product features and AI-assisted workflows

  • Collaborate with product, frontend, and AI engineers to ensure smooth end-to-end behavior

  • Improve performance, reliability, and security across API endpoints

  • Establish versioning, documentation standards, and long-term API guidelines

  • Work on backend infrastructure that supports semantic tools, agents, and real-time collaboration

  • Monitor and debug production issues to ensure a stable, predictable API experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong understanding of REST, GraphQL, or RPC-style architecture patterns

  • 3–6+ years of experience building robust APIs for modern SaaS products

  • Comfortable designing clean data models and well-structured service boundaries

  • Strong coding skills in TypeScript, Node.js, or similar backend stacks

  • Experience with authentication, rate limiting, caching, and performance optimization

  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Focus on building predictable systems that feel simple from the outside

What we offer

  • Interesting, meaningful work with real ownership

  • A calm, focused work culture

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Employee-friendly equity terms

  • Remote work with no commuting

  • Co-working allowance

  • Annual team retreats and off-sites

  • Health benefits (region dependent)

  • 5 weeks paid vacation

  • 4 months paid parental leave
